Hi, I’m Jens – pronounced “Yenz.”
I’m the founder of HYVE Bookkeeping, and I’ve always been obsessed with building better systems.
That mindset started young—on a 1-acre patch of land at the edge of town, surrounded by animals and weeds. My dad had my brother and me manually shovel weeds, haul them to the goat and mule corrals, and repeat the process again and again as they inevitably grew back. One day, I asked myself a simple question: Is there a better way?
There was. I researched and installed an electric fence to let the animals safely roam the yard and naturally handle the weeds. That moment changed everything for me. I realized that with a little ingenuity, the right tools, and a smarter system—you can get far better results with far less effort.
Later I earned my Bachelor’s in Business Management (with a concentration in accounting),and spent four years in the U.S. Navy, where I was formally recognized for optimizing and restructuring my unit to maximize each person’s strengths.
Since 2005, I’ve parlayed that discipline and ingenuity into a bookkeeping career—helping everyone from family construction businesses to online retailers keep their finances accurate and up to date.
